About Us
Our Farms
We are growing our supply chain. Currently, we harvest wild Yaupon on our Florida panhandle farm. The wild Yaupon grows among the majestic long leaf pines creating a one-of-a-kind sustainable, regenerative agriculture supply chain model.
Yaupon Tea Company also performs Yaupon research at our Metter, Georgia organic farm. Our USDA SBIR Phase II Research Grant allows us to performs research on Yaupon growing protocols, photochemistry variations, tissue culture propagation and more.
Our Facilities
Yaupon Tea Company has a new, Organic Certified, on-farm processing facility with state-of-the-art tea drying, roasting and cleaning equipment. We are finalizing our Good Manufacturing Practices and Level II SQF Certified HACCP -based food safety plan.
Our Research
Our Phase II SBIR Innovation grant allows us to study how Yaupon grows under different conditions. We research Yaupon’s photochemistry using different proprietary inputs. We are creating organic growing protocols that enhance Yaupon’s photochemistry, harvest yields, growth rates, propagation techniques from tree cuttings and tissue culture.
Sustainability
Our wild Yaupon comes from our regenerative agro-forestry farm. We harvest native Yaupon growing wild among the native long leaf pine trees. Yaupon & long leaf pine coexist in a native alliance that promotes healing of the earth and creates an amazing ecosystem for wildlife.
Traceability and Transparency
We believe traceability is paramount when supplying plant based products. Thus, we grow & harvest our Yaupon on our own farm. We then process and package the Yaupon in a facility also located on our farm. We believe a vertical operation like this creates the most transparent source of Yaupon - traceable from the tree to the customer.
